Case Study Next Week: The Plan Will Change... Then What?

Hi!

We spend a lot of time in comms planning for what we think is going to happen: building strategies, preparing for milestones, pressure-testing scenarios, and trying to anticipate what could change along the way.

And then the plan changes. Or a scenario we didn't anticipate pops up.

Sometimes it’s a small adjustment. Other times, a new development changes the people involved, the priorities, the timing, or the decision itself. The job becomes figuring out what still holds, what needs to move, and how to help the organization make the "right" call.

That’s exactly what Kim Fox, Head of Corporate Communications & Patient Advocacy at Legend Biotech, will explore as she closes Day 2 (October 7th) of our Virtual Biopharma Comms Forum, Owning the Outcome.

🎤 Case Study: Leading Communications Through Constant Flux With Trust, Influence, and Agility

Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 @ 3:30 p.m. ET
Location: Zoom

When Kim joined Legend Biotech less than a year ago, she quickly found herself navigating a dense stretch of company activity. Major data presentations at ASCO and EHA, global media engagement, and leadership transitions were all unfolding while she was still learning the organization, building relationships, and figuring out how decisions really got made.

Concepts Kim will take us through:

  • Building credibility quickly when you’re still learning the organization and the people around you are learning how you operate.
  • Knowing what to plan tightly and what to leave flexible when circumstances are likely to change.
  • Influencing decisions you don’t own, especially when leaders bring different perspectives, priorities, or levels of familiarity with communications.
  • Reprioritizing in real time when unexpected developments suddenly compete with planned work for attention and resources.
  • Extending communications’ impact by building partnerships and shared ownership across the organization instead of relying only on the formal comms team.
  • Leading through ambiguity with curiosity, including how asking better questions can help you understand what’s really driving a decision, surface what may be missing, and find a more productive path forward.

This last piece is one I’m especially looking forward to you all hearing about from Kim. She's developed a practical way of questioning her way through moments where the answer isn’t immediately clear, including understanding what’s at stake, what different people are bringing into the room, and what communications can contribute.

About Kim:

Kim brings more than 30 years of healthcare communications experience across pharmaceutical, biotech, media, and public relations organizations. Before joining Legend Biotech, she was Vice President of Communications at Milestone Pharmaceuticals, where she led corporate, product, and investor communications. Her career has also included leadership roles at Bristol Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Everyday Health, Sanofi, and Novartis.

Have a good weekend, and see you next week!

T2B Monthly | September 2026 Hi! So appropriate that I'm finishing up this month's newsletter while I'm on a plane to San Diego, hosting our final mixer of Q3 tonight. Like I'm sure it's been for most of you, September has been go-go-go here at T2B! We celebrate this community's third(!!) anniversary in October, and it feels fitting that we're kicking off the month with our 2nd Annual Virtual Biopharma Comms Forum. This year's theme, Owning the Outcome, reflects so much of what we've been...

Hi! There's usually no shortage of data we have at our disposal as communicators. But what to focus on and signals stakeholder impact is often harder to identify. At next week's Virtual Biopharma Comms Forum, our panel “Measuring What Matters to the Business” will bring together perspectives from inside and outside comms to examine what credible evidence of impact looks like now, and how expectations are changing. Joining the conversation on Oct. 6th @ 11 a.m. ET: 💬 Brindha Dyer, Executive...

Hi! A quick reminder that our Q3 Culture Connect Roundtable event is tomorrow, (Tuesday) September 29th, at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT / 5 p.m. BST. The topic is “Building a Credible Biopharma Employer Brand Through Growth and Change.” Employer brand matters well beyond hiring. It’s shaped by how employees experience the company, how organizations communicate and behave through periods of growth and change, and whether the story being told externally matches the reality people experience...
