Peer-coaching enrollment is open!

Hi!

Enrollment for T2B's Peer-Learning Practicum (PLP) is now OPEN!

I created the PLP because I wanted to provide a space where real conversations could continue and meaningful relationships could form. While we considered traditional mentoring, I've learned from experience that there's often a mentor shortage, and many mid-stage professionals feel caught in between—too senior to be mentees, not experienced enough to be mentors.

The truth is, we all have something to learn from each other. Veteran communicators gain fresh perspectives from emerging talent, agency folks learn from in-house experiences, freelancers share insights with full-timers, and job seekers bring valuable outside observations. The PLP recognizes that peer learning happens best when we break down these artificial hierarchies.

What is the PLP?

The PLP goes beyond traditional networking by placing T2B Pro members into small peer-coaching cohorts that foster deep, meaningful dialogue and build connections that often last far beyond the program itself.

Why our participants love it: 94% of members rate their cohort leads 4 or 5 out of 5, and nearly everyone reports feeling comfortable and included in discussions. As one recent participant shared: "Every month I looked forward to my (safe) conversation space to talk honestly about shared challenges and experiences in this field."

Program details

What's new this cycle: About 70 T2B Pro members joined the first PLP cycle this year. Based on participant feedback, we're optimizing cohort sizes to 6-8 people to improve scheduling consistency and group dynamics while maintaining the intimate, supportive environment you've come to expect.

  • Duration: Monthly virtual meetings (~1 hour each) from late August through December 2025
  • Cohort composition: Mix of emerging, mid-stage, and veteran communicators across biopharma comms—agency, in-house, freelancers, and job seekers
  • Flexible discussion focus: While each month has a suggested theme tied to Comm Convo topics, Cohort Leads have full flexibility to take conversations where their groups need to go, addressing real-time challenges and opportunities

Registration closes Friday, July 18th.

Already participated? You're welcome to re-enroll and be matched with a new group.

This cycle's Cohort Leads

Each cohort is led by an industry expert who creates inclusive, responsive experiences:

  • Terri Clevenger (Waterhouse Brands)
  • Geoff Curtis (Marshall Curtis Communications) — returning lead
  • Melinda Hutcheon (Sangamo Therapeutics) — returning lead
  • Susan Kinkead (Kinkead Communications)
  • Agatha Newman (Astellas Pharma)
  • Sheryl Seapy (Real Chemistry)
  • Marisa Sharkey (Harmony Biosciences) — returning lead
  • Sarah Spencer (SJS Communications)

This group of executives, managers, founders, and advisors brings diverse experiences and the flexibility to guide discussions based on what their cohorts need most. It speaks volumes that three of our leads got so much out of the program—even in a volunteer capacity—that they're coming back to lead again!

How it works

  1. Upgrade to T2B Pro (if you haven't already)
  2. Enroll for the PLP using the link below
  3. Get matched — We'll assign you to a group based on your background, career level, and location

You should join if you're willing to:

  • Attend as many cohort meetings as possible and actively engage
  • Bring perspective to discussions while maintaining an open mind
  • Support your cohort peers across all career stages and work situations

Enroll here — We only open enrollment twice a year for T2B Pro members, so this is your chance to be part of something special.

T2B Monthly | June 2025 The ripple effect, peer coaching is back(!), new T2B info session, and more! It was at JPM this year when I saw it. That experience — what was our biggest event to date at the time — followed by a week of energizing conversations in January, crystallized T2B’s potential. We’ve been building momentum toward sustainability ever since, bringing us to our inaugural Biopharma Comms Forum a couple weeks ago. As I shared in my remarks in Boston, I launched T2B because I...

Hi! As we work to make the T2B community sustainable, it’s been a privilege to partner with organizations that truly understand the value of connection. We strive to embed our sponsors into the fabric of this community, prioritizing relationships and shared insights over sales pitches. One of those voices is Angela Dwyer, Fullintel’s VP of insights, who brought thoughtfulness and curiosity to every conversation she joined. Here are a few of her recent reflections I’d like to pass on to all of...

Hi! We're kicking off our T2B forum recap series with our thoughts on “Expanding Communicator Influence Across Biopharma Decision-Making Functions,” a session with Mimi Lee (ARPA-H), Julie Masow (BioNTech), Sandy Pound (Thermo Fisher), and Katie Joyce (Alkermes) that had people buzzing in the hallway afterward. We brought together communicators from different parts of our industry to dig into something we’re all navigating: how to continue moving beyond being the “press release person” and...
