👀 Tomorrow: Beyond the Binder in the Era of Constant Crisis

Hi!

A quick reminder that our September Comm Convo is tomorrow, September 24th, at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT / 5 p.m. BST.

We called this session "Beyond the Binder in the Era of Constant Crisis" because so much of crisis readiness now comes down to judgment: knowing what deserves preparation, what requires an immediate response, and how to make good decisions when the facts are incomplete or still changing.

What we'll get into tomorrow:

  • Prioritizing what to prepare for based on the stage and realities of the business, rather than trying to build a playbook for every conceivable scenario.
  • Advising leaders when you don’t have all the answers yet, including what you can credibly communicate now and what needs to wait.
  • Getting the right functions aligned quickly when the normal medical, legal, regulatory, policy, and business processes can’t move at their usual pace.
  • Building trust before you need it, particularly with journalists and other stakeholders who can shape how an issue is understood in real time.
  • Evaluating if a crisis is really “over," as coverage, search behavior, social conversation, and stakeholder attention can keep an issue alive long after the initial event.

We’ll be joined by:

💬 Jennifer Haslip, Head of Research and Science Communications, Google

💬 Stephen Majors, VP, Global Communications and Investor Relations, Alliance for Regenerative Medicine

💬 Adam Silverstein, Managing Director, Narrative Strategies

💬 Laura Hortas, VP & Head of Communications, Catalent Pharma Solutions (Moderator)

Hi! When Jessica Freifeld signed on to support thought leadership and LinkedIn for Parabilis' CEO, she had no idea that she’d eventually be leading the communications effort for the largest IPO for a venture-backed biotech company. But she soon found herself working alongside not only the CEO, but also the finance team, banks, legal counsel, and agency partners to sharpen a differentiated investor narrative for the company. On Day 2 of our upcoming Virtual Biopharma Comms Forum, Jessica will...

Hi! For us at T2B and probably for most of you, too, September is not only the return from summertime, but also the turn around the corner that takes us through the end of the year and into JPM. This year feels especially jam-packed, so before anything else, I want to thank everyone who joined us at our T2Bmeets last week along the Eastern Seaboard, in D.C., Philly, and Boston for making the time — time away from work, client deadlines, family, travel, and everything else competing for it. A...

Hi! Patients and patient advocacy organizations show up across biopharma communications in all kinds of ways: sharing lived experience, reviewing materials, advising teams, participating in research, speaking at events, and helping organizations better understand the communities they serve. At our August Comm Convo, Rethinking What We Ask of Patients, we took a closer look at what makes those engagements thoughtful, useful, and sustainable. A huge thank you to Erin Murphy (Alagille Syndrome...
