Announcing Our Sept. Comm Convo: Crisis Comms & Issues Management in 2026

Before today’s announcement, we want to acknowledge September 11th and remember those who lost their lives, their families, and all those affected.

Hi!

Some days it feels like we exist in a world of constant crisis. Political volatility, regulatory shifts, reputational issues, and the speed of social media rapidly turn emerging issues into acute ones for our industry.

And somehow, the crises in front of us are often not the ones we planned for.

This raises a new set of questions for practitioners. How do we decide what to react to when heightened readiness has become the norm? How do we counsel leaders when we don’t have all the facts? How do we get medical, legal, regulatory, policy, and business partners aligned quickly enough to respond?

We’ll discuss these challenges and more at our September Comm Convo.

September Comm Convo: Beyond the Binder in the Era of Constant Crisis

📅 Thursday, September 24th @ 12-1 p.m. ET / 9-10 a.m. PT / 5-6 p.m. BST

Free for T2B Pro and Student members / $40 for Basic members

Featured speakers:

💬 Jennifer Haslip, Head of Research and Science Communications, Google

💬 Stephen Majors, Vice President, Global Communications and Investor Relations, Alliance for Regenerative Medicine

💬 Adam Silverstein, Managing Director, Narrative Strategies

💬 Laura Hortas, Vice President & Head of Communications, Catalent Pharma Solutions (Moderator)

We’ll also dig into another kind of challenge – what to do when there is no clean “after” to the crisis because news stories and social media can keep an issue indefinitely alive. How do comms teams maintain perspective, judgment, and resilience when an issue is prolonged, recurring, or followed almost immediately by another?

Hope to see you there!

Hi! There’s a whole lot about this profession that we learn by watching, asking questions, making a few mistakes, and gradually figuring out how things really work. That’s what tomorrow’s inaugural Students & Recent Grads Roundtable event is about. Christine Akinc (formerly Alnylam), Samara Dowe (Catalytic), and Rushmie Nofsinger (formerly Cellarity) bring perspectives from different career stages and from both agency and in-house roles. Together with moderators and roundtable members Jasmine...

Hi! There’s a lot of interest right now across the T2B community in how to build and use AI agents. But before we get to the how-to, there’s some important foundational thinking to do. At our Q3 AI Roundtable event, Skye King and incoming roundtable chair Monica Aguilar helped us understand how agentic AI changes the way we need to think about workflows: what’s worth delegating, what an agent needs in order to do it well, where human judgment belongs, and what guardrails and oversight need to...

Hi! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been digging into what our inaugural AI in Biopharma Communications Survey tells us about how AI is changing our profession. We’ve seen that adoption is accelerating, and that individual communicators are moving faster than their organizations. This week, we take a look at our next finding: The appetite for AI adoption is there, but support is thin. AI learning is still largely self-directed One of the clearest findings from the survey is the extent to which...
