Don’t miss our next press panel tomorrow!

Hi!

Our Media Minds Roundtable press panels are designed to help foster stronger and more efficient working relationships with journalists. When we ask reporters to join these panels, our pitch is essentially to invest an hour telling our community how to work with them, what stories they're following, and what drives them crazy (what not to do!)... and in return, the hope is they'll receive more targeted and timely outreach from all of us.

During tomorrow's program, we'll take a closer look at how journalists separate hype from reality when reporting on emerging trends.

Hype vs. Health – A Journalist’s Lens on Emerging Healthcare Trends at HLTH 2025

🗓️ Friday, October 3rd @ 1–2 p.m. ET / 10–11 a.m. PT

Register here (exclusive to T2B Pro and Student members; Basic members not permitted)

Our panelists:

  • Arundhati Parmar, Editor-in-Chief, MedCity News
  • John Lynn, Editor & Founder, Healthcare IT Today / Host of Life Sciences Today
  • Lydia Ramsey Pflanzer, Deputy Editor, Endpoints News

Moderated by: Betsy Yates (Complete Genomics) and Ellen Murphy (Syneos Health), members of T2B's Media Minds Roundtable

We’ll dig into questions like:

  • Hype vs. hope: What signals help distinguish genuine promise from empty hype?
  • The AI flood: With HLTH dominated by AI, how do journalists cut through noise and spot red flags?
  • Investor narratives: How much of “disruption” is shaped by investors, and what’s the patient impact?
  • Theranos effect: What lessons linger for how reporters scrutinize bold claims?
  • Trends to watch: Which stories are being overlooked now that could reshape healthcare in the next five years?

We know most of the T2B community is not attending HLTH (Michelle and I aren't going, either), but this panel still offers an inside look at how leading journalists cut through bold claims to decide which stories matter to patients, providers, and the public. And that's obviously something ALL of us care deeply about!

Hi! As journalists prepare for HLTH—where they'll face hundreds, if not thousands of pitches, according to Healthcare IT Today's John Lynn—we asked three seasoned reporters how they decide what actually breaks through the noise. Our panel with Arundhati Parmar (MedCity News), John, and Lydia Ramsey Pflanzer (Endpoints) focused on the conference ahead, but their insights apply whether you're pitching reporters at a major event or from your desk on a random Tuesday. Our top 10 takeaways: 1....

Hi! Many people are surprised to learn I'm an introvert at heart. While I genuinely love connecting with all of you, I need that quiet time to recharge. Michelle and I complement each other perfectly in that way; her extrovert energy balances my nature, and it's taught me so much about the value of different approaches to leadership and presence. T2B's final masterclass of the year feels like the perfect way to close out 2024: a session that invites us to appreciate ourselves and each other...
