Next Comm Convo Announced: Fluent in Finance, Science, and Strategy

Hi!

One of the themes that came through at our recent Biopharma Comms Forum (more on that soon!) is that clarity comes in part from understanding the business deeply enough to see what matters, what is changing, and where the pressure points are before they become visible to everyone else.

That's the focus of our June Comm Convo:

Fluent in Finance, Science, and Strategy.

🗓️ Tuesday, June 30th
đź•› Noon ET / 9 a.m. PT / 5-6 p.m. BST
📍Zoom
🎟️ Register here. Complimentary for T2B Pro and Student members. $40 for Basic.

What we’ll explore

This conversation will look at what it takes for communicators to operate with real fluency across the business, and to shape the counsel, sharpen the narrative, and influence decisions at the right altitude. We'll be looking at:

  • How senior communicators build fluency across functions without flattening the expertise of those functions
  • What changes when comms counsel is grounded in a deeper understanding of science, finance, and corporate strategy
  • How cross-functional credibility is earned over time, especially with teams that operate on different incentives, timelines, and definitions of risk
  • Where communicators can add the most value in high-stakes moments by seeing across functions, audiences, and implications
  • How the most important relationships shift as companies move through different stages of growth, financing, and maturity

Featured speakers

đź’¬ Naina Bhasin, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer, Lifordi Immunotherapeutics

đź’¬ Julie DiCarlo, Head of Investor Relations & Communications, Rapport Therapeutics

đź’¬ Chris Patil, Ph.D., Vice President, Media, BioAge Labs

đź’¬ Peggy Vorwald, Ph.D., Executive Director, IR and Corporate Communications, Caribou Biosciences (Moderator)

Together, they’ll bring perspectives from company building, investor relations, science, media, operations, and corporate communications to a conversation about how fluency across the business changes the work, the relationships, and the level of counsel communicators can provide.

Hope to see you there!

Lynnea

P.S. - If you're at BIO or local to San Diego, please swing by our reception tomorrow near the convention center (BIO pass not needed)!

T2B Monthly | June 2026 Hi! You tell me. Are we creating magic? That's how one of our forum speakers summed up T2B. To pursue a career as a biopharma communicator requires intention, grit, and high EQ. So, despite working in an industry steered by data, I'd agree that convening this community (all of you!) – across coast-to-coast meetups, our second annual forum, member-led virtual sessions – is a privilege, and yes, a little magical. ✨ Today's email is 2,604 words, a 9-minute read. In this...

Hi! A reminder that tomorrow’s June Comm Convo will explore how life science communicators "speak" finance, science, and strategy, and what that fluency informs in our work. Hi! You don't need me to tell you that there's an ongoing, major, major shift in healthcare media. One of the most prominent changes we're seeing right now is more journalists leaving traditional newsrooms to launch independent newsletters, podcasts, and subscriber-supported publications of their own. For us communicators, that raises important questions: How are reporters finding stories? What does credibility look like outside traditional media brands? How are these new publications going...
