Patient Advocacy & Engagement Roundtable

Hi!

We’re all about bringing together the most creative minds in biopharma in a bid to secure and enhance the future of our profession.

One of the many ways we do this is through our roundtables, which are driven directly by members who specialize in, and are passionate about, key areas of biopharma communications.

And the next discipline on that roster is patient advocacy and engagement.

Everything you need to know about the Patient Advocacy and Engagement Roundtable

This roundtable will bring together a team of biopharma communicators dedicated to engaging patients as essential stakeholders.

They’ll work together to develop resources and events to help other T2B members build authentic connections with patient communities and advocacy organizations, highlighting how meaningful engagement is not only the “right thing to do,” but also a critical driver of business success.

Chaired by Mike Walsh, Founder & CEO, Patient Advocacy Strategies, this cohort will:

  • Create an environment where like-minded communicators can exchange ideas, share experiences, and define best practices for patient-first storytelling.
  • Develop frameworks for working with internal teams, such as medical affairs and R&D, to align patient advocacy efforts with overarching corporate goals.
  • Explore ways to foster trust and credibility with patient communities through transparent, culturally sensitive, and compliant communication strategies.
  • Provide tools to measure and articulate the impact of patient advocacy, demonstrating its value to internal stakeholders and clients, reinforcing its role as a business imperative.

Who can apply?

Anyone who’s a T2B Pro member can apply by May 23rd for one of the spots on the Patient Advocacy and Engagement Roundtable.

However, T2B Pro membership does not guarantee a spot – only 5 spaces are available.

Applicants must have:

  • A passion for integrating patients into life science innovation.
  • The ability to volunteer 3-5 hours/month to co-create quarterly PA&E RT events and monthly resources for the broader T2B community.
  • Self-driven to coordinate, collaborate, ideate, and participate in quarterly PA&E Roundtable team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback.
  • An active T2B Pro membership.

Hi! Last week, the T2B community tackled the topic of trust. In an intriguing and very candid Comm Convo led by speakers Kris Baum (former FDA, CDER), Mary Kosinski (FleishmanHillard), and Sarah Spencer (Vor Bio), we explored how the relationships we build shape our ability to lead, influence, and respond. With so many specific anecdotes and practical tips shared, it was hard to narrow down to just 10 key takeaways, but we managed it (barely!): Leverage science as your trust anchor. When...
