Next Week! Myth-Busting Patient Advocacy Assumptions for Communicators

Hi!

Patient advocacy is often most visible through awareness campaigns, community events, fundraising walks, and patient stories. But that’s of course only part of the picture, and for communicators, PA&E may be part of our own remit or something we engage with across the organization.

At our next Patient Advocacy & Engagement Roundtable event, we’re turning the conversation over to the Roundtable members themselves for a candid, myth-busting discussion about what PA&E does, where it influences decisions, and what communicators should understand about the function — whether we lead it ourselves or intersect with it through other parts of our role.

Patient Advocacy Beyond the Walk

📅 Thursday, October 29th
⏰ 12-1 p.m. ET / 9-10 a.m. PT / 16:00-17:00 GMT
📍 Virtual (Zoom)

Register here

Free and exclusive to T2B Pro and Student members.

We’ll pressure-test assumptions like “patient input is all about the anecdote,” “advocacy is about building toward launch,” and “we can’t really measure PA impact." Then, we'll get into how patient insight can shape decisions, what separates partnership from transaction, where communications and advocacy intersect, and how PA&E demonstrates value beyond activity counts.

Hear directly from T2B’s PA&E Roundtable members:

  • Susan Brisendine, Founder and Principal, Conduit Health Collective
  • Erin Murphy, Global Strategy & Partnerships and Communications, Alagille Syndrome Alliance
  • Jonathan Naylor, Associate Director, Patient Advocacy, DISC Medicine
  • Lauren Walrath, Head of US Communications and Media, Organon
  • Michele Lentz, Founder/CEO, Stand up for Patients (moderator)

Whether PA&E sits squarely within your remit or you encounter it through corporate communications, patient storytelling, clinical milestones, disease education, media, or other parts of the job, we hope you’ll join us.

Hi! Employee giving and volunteer programs can deliver value well beyond employee engagement. Done thoughtfully, they can strengthen company culture and employer brand, deepen community relationships, and create authentic stories that support corporate reputation. At our recent SF Bay Area T2Bmeet, hosted by Exelixis, we explored how the company is realizing these benefits through Exelixis CARES, from making participation easier and empowering employee ambassadors to creating content that...
