🌟 New AI Roundtable members and Knowledge Partner announced

We’re proud to announce the launch of T2B's AI Roundtable, which will offer a collaborative space to exchange ideas, tackle challenges, and uncover ways AI can amplify biopharma communicators' strategic impact.

Our inaugural AI Roundtable members:

In addition, we’ve brought Syneos Health Communications on board as our very first official Knowledge Partner supporting this roundtable. The Syneos team will serve as a strategic resource for roundtable members and our community, offering perspective on real-world AI implementation and contributing to knowledge resources we develop together.

It's important to note that our roundtable membership selection remains completely independent. All members earned their seats based solely on their individual expertise, with no influence from sponsorship arrangements.

Together, under the leadership of Chair Delphine Caraguel and with project management support from Jennifer Smith-Parker, this group will be tackling the same questions raised at our recent forum, The Ripple Effect (check out the highlights from the forum below!), plus many more.

🌊 The Ripple Effect Biopharma Comms Forum - thank you!

Our first-ever Biopharma Comms Forum is in the books! We had 100+ participants and 15 fantastic speakers come together for a full day of ideas, conversation, and connection. The energy stayed high from start to finish – a testament to this community.

In my opening remarks, I shared why this moment feels so important: the world is shifting fast, AI is changing how we work, and communicators have a bigger role in guiding, advising, and making our impact understood. As we opened the day, I shared a quote from the amazing social scientist Brené Brown in a recent New York Times interview:

“Good communication is a skill that’s based in clarity, discipline and accountability. Good communication is vulnerable. It’s hard. You have to have a tolerance for discomfort if you want to communicate well and honestly.”

That spirit was with us all day, and I look forward to carrying it forward together. More forum takeaways coming soon!

🥂 Q3 T2Bmeets recap

We’ve just wrapped up Q3 with a whirlwind tour of the East Coast – that yes, included planes, trains, and automobiles. A few highlights:

  • Boston: Our special-edition T2Bmeet in partnership with WEST brought together 80 RSVPs (!!) for a fresh take on a career panel featuring Heather Nichols (Vertex), Liz Power (Civica), Cynthia Isaac, Ph.D. (Syneos), and Jerry Doyle (Yes& CommCore). Huge thanks to Syneos Health Communications for hosting us in such a unique venue on BU’s campus – many compared it to a Newport mansion! – and to their team for the incredible support.
  • Philly: Our very first meetup in the city, where the turnout and energy set the bar high.
  • D.C.: The T2B community showed up in force for our first-ever meetup in the capital. It was truly a privilege to co-host with Sarah Alspach (BIO) and Michael Pratt (National Pharmaceutical Council) and to see this community shine.

And if you're in SoCal, stop by Windmill Food Hall in Carlsbad TODAY between 5 and 7 p.m. to mix and mingle there and meet T2B's head of professional development Michelle Benz! RSVP here.

This month’s meetups reinforced T2B’s role in a rapidly changing industry. We’re a resource and a place where communicators can connect, share ideas, and feel supported in a rapidly changing industry. It’s not always easy out there, but having a space to come together, recharge, and learn from one another really matters. We’re grateful to be building that safe, supportive community with all of you. Stay tuned for our final round of meetups this year, during Q4 in Boston, NYC, SoCal, and SF!

📝 Q3 Masterclass takeaways

Our Q3 Leadership Lab Masterclass with Monique Kelley – “Networking Redefined” – was a chance to rethink networking as authentic, long-game relationship building. From spotting energy-draining patterns to applying your comms skills internally, Monique offered practical tools to help us build stronger, more sustainable connections.

Highlights included her “Three-Step Value Framework” (identify your unique value, define your target audience, and choose the right channels), tips for prioritizing quality over quantity at events, and a reminder to invest consistently in relationships—not just when you need something.

If you couldn’t make it, view the full replay or read our top 10 takeaways!

📚 Roundtable monthly resources

We’re lucky enough to have a group of experts volunteering their time across multiple areas of expertise – from IR, to patient engagement, to AI and more. Our Roundtables meet regularly to discuss topics of interest to our community, and create resources we can all learn from.

If you're a T2B Pro or Student member, can find these resources in your member Dashboard, under the Roundtable Programming heading.

Here are the latest:

  • From the IR Roundtable, Ami Bavishi has crafted a guide to navigating the complexity of medical meetings with confidence and precision, located here.
  • Our Biopharma Beats Bulletin, brought to us by Ellen Murphy from our Media Minds Roundtable, features Dylan Kissane, Director of Editorial at Labiotech, sharing his perspective on covering the European biotech landscape, here.

This month, we’re spotlighting a timely resource from Paul Roetzer, founder and CEO of SmarterX and Marketing AI Institute.

In a recent post, Paul highlighted CEOs who are beginning to talk more openly about the impact of AI on jobs, from Amazon’s Andy Jassy to Salesforce’s Marc Benioff and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang. While this new transparency is encouraging, Paul flags that these conversations often stop short of providing employees with clarity, guidance, or next steps.

For this reason, he created an AI-Forward CEO Memo template. This framework gives company leaders a way to communicate the impact of AI more responsibly, with five pillars designed to reduce fear and uncertainty while accelerating adoption in a human-centered way.

Hi! As journalists prepare for HLTH—where they'll face hundreds, if not thousands of pitches, according to Healthcare IT Today's John Lynn—we asked three seasoned reporters how they decide what actually breaks through the noise. Our panel with Arundhati Parmar (MedCity News), John, and Lydia Ramsey Pflanzer (Endpoints) focused on the conference ahead, but their insights apply whether you're pitching reporters at a major event or from your desk on a random Tuesday. Our top 10 takeaways: 1....

Hi! Many people are surprised to learn I'm an introvert at heart. While I genuinely love connecting with all of you, I need that quiet time to recharge. Michelle and I complement each other perfectly in that way; her extrovert energy balances my nature, and it's taught me so much about the value of different approaches to leadership and presence. T2B's final masterclass of the year feels like the perfect way to close out 2024: a session that invites us to appreciate ourselves and each other...
