Tomorrow: Carrying Credibility When the Corporate Mic Doesn't Suffice

Hi!

Ever since I can remember, the de facto comms announcement strategy has centered on company statements, press releases, media outreach, executive quotes, and corporate social channels. Those still matter. But increasingly, credibility also depends on who is speaking, where they are speaking, and whether the message feels like it is coming from a real person with expertise, judgment, and something meaningful to say.

That could mean a CEO on LinkedIn, a scientist explaining the work in plain language, a journalist deciding which sources are worth listening to, an independent creator building an audience around bipharma, or an internal SME who can bring more humanity and clarity to a company’s story.

During T2B's July Comm Convo (tomorrow), we'll be discussing which voices audiences already trust, how to support those voices without over-managing them, and how to choose channels based on both reach and credibility.

July Comm Convo: Why Only Some Platforms Are Trusted When Everyone Has One

📅 Tomorrow, Thursday, July 23rd
🕛 12-1 p.m. ET / 9-10 a.m. PT / 5-6 p.m. BST
🎟️ Register here. Free for T2B Pro and Student members / $40 for Basic members

We’ll explore how communicators can:

  • Think beyond the corporate channel when deciding who should carry a message.
  • Support scientists, executives and SMEs in showing up as credible, human communicators.
  • Work with trusted voices and platforms we may influence, but do not fully control.
  • Decide when a message belongs with the company, an individual spokesperson, a journalist, a creator, or another channel entirely.
  • Navigate brand, legal, regulatory, and internal considerations without stripping away what makes a voice credible in the first place.

Featured speakers

Gwen Wu, BioPharma Dive (Moderator) — bringing the newsroom perspective on how journalists evaluate sources, expertise, and credibility.

Chloe Kirk, Ph.D., BiotechTV — bringing a scientist-first lens on helping researchers communicate with broader audiences, plus fresh takeaways from BiotechTV’s U.S. Science Summit.

Ben McLeod, Convey Bio + The Biotech Voyager — bringing the creator and executive thought-leadership perspective on why faceless company content is losing ground to individual voices with clear points of view.

Liz Puzio, Corporate Communications, Simtra BioPharma Solutions — bringing the in-house perspective on coaching executives and internal SMEs to sound credible, human, and authentic across channels.

I’m looking forward to hearing how this group thinks about the voices and platforms carrying credibility in our industry now, and what that means for the way we do our jobs.

See you tomorrow!

Our job goes way, way beyond helping people communicate; we help people think through -- often serving as a guide through -- complex situations. Bringing that coaching mindset into our everyday communications work is the topic of our Q3 masterclass. The Coaching Mindset for...

Hi! Last week, we highlighted just how integrated AI has become in everyday biopharma work. But the second finding in our inaugural AI in Biopharma Communications survey raises a bigger question: What happens when individual communicators adopt AI faster than their organizations? Today we explore the contrast between the recent surge in individual AI use and the lag in mature governance, standardized workflows, and formal support at most organizations. Individual adoption is outpacing...
